Matthew 26:3-4 states, “Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas. And consulted that they might take Yeshua by subtilty, and kill Him.”
As Baruch stated at the Conference, what we see here is that the leaders had their own agenda–they were supposed to be servants of G-d, but instead they were concerned with their own desires.
How often are we concerned with our own desires and not G-d’s will? G-d is perfect and He knows what is best for us–much more than we know.
Perhaps as 2014 approaches, we can make the decision to totally turn our will over to HaShem and let go of our own will.
